CME Outfitters Receives Top Recognition in Latest ACCME Survey Decision
Earns Accreditation with Commendation and six year approval term for exemplary performance

March 29, 2006

Rockville, MD - CME Outfitters, LLC, an independent accredited provider of continuing medical education programming and related healthcare communications services, is proud to announce that it has been re-surveyed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and awarded accreditation with commendation for six years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Outfitters, now completing its fourth year in business, had previously been granted provisional approval status after its first survey in late 2003. This latest achievement cements the company's standing among the industry's elite and most knowledgeable providers of continuing medical education.

ACCME accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing medical education activities provided by CME Outfitters meet the high standards of the Essential Areas, Elements and Policies for Accreditation as specified by the ACCME. The ACCME rigorously evaluates the overall continuing medical education programs of institutions according to standards adopted by all seven member organizations of the ACCME. These are: the American Board of Medical Specialties; the American Hospital Association; the American Medical Association; the Association for Hospital Medical Education; the Association of American Medical Colleges; the Council of Medical Specialty Societies; and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S., Inc.

"All new providers must go through a two-year provisional approval status at first, and we're proud to have gone from there directly to accreditation with commendation and a full six year approval term," said Richard Vanderpool, CME Outfitters' Director of Accreditation and a 13-year veteran of the CME community. He noted that the ACCME decision singled out 3 instances of exemplary compliance by CME Outfitters in the area of educational planning and evaluation, particularly needs assessment, activity evaluation, and overall program evaluation.

"We've always aimed high when it comes to setting the standards for our CME program. This recognition is very gratifying and we realize the additional responsibility that it brings," said Christopher Perez, CME Outfitters managing partner in charge of accreditation and communications.

CME Outfitters develops and distributes live, recorded, print, and web-based educational activities to thousands of clinicians each year and offers expert accreditation services for non-accredited organizations.
