Statement of Need

This video is a replay of a plenary session from the 9th Annual Chair Summit Master Class for Neuroscience Professional Development held in Miami, Florida on September 15 – 17, 2016.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this CE activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify the circumstances that require the start of pharmacotherapy with AED after first unprovoked seizure.
• Identify psychiatric, cognitive, and medical comorbidities that can be negatively affected by pharmacotherapy with AEDs.
• Identify the seizure type and epilepsy syndrome, and establish a possible etiology when applicable.
