Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols represent comprehensive, multidisciplinary efforts to expedite postoperative recovery while reducing avoidable complications. Successful implementation of these protocols requires proper coordination between the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nursing personnel, the pharmacist, the patient, and the patient’s caregivers in the postoperative period. This has led to a need for interdisciplinary education to ensure that all team members are equipped to optimize patient outcomes.
