Statement of Need

The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) and CME Outfitters, LLC, conducted a satellite symposium entitled, Mature Mood Matters: New and Emerging Developments in Geriatric Depression at the AAGP Annual Meeting on March 15, 2013. The activity was attended by geriatric psychiatrists and psychiatrists with an interest in geriatric depression and focused on three timely topics: (1) implications for measurement-based care in geriatric depression from the recently released fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5); (2) the updated Beers Criteria released in 2012 by the American Geriatrics Society that focus on use of potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) in older adults; and (3) therapeutic advances in the treatment of geriatric depression.

This live, interactive symposium was captured on video and is available as a certified activity at www.neuroscienceCME.com/CM786 and www.aagponline.org.
Because the opportunity to engage and connect with faculty is critical physician learning, a companion live Q & A has been scheduled to “Ask the Expert” about content presented during the symposium on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.

During this activity, you will be able to ask questions, discuss your clinical case successes and challenges; and gain insight and practice pearls from Charles F. Reynolds, III, MD. Please register in advance for this live Q & A session. It is an activity that you don’t want to miss.
