Statement of Need

How will you evaluate and treat a 50-year-old woman with non-specific complaints of depression, shoulder pain, slight tremor, and stiffness?

The neuroscienceCME clinical simulation platform offers a challenging learning environment where your choices determine your path and the patient’s outcomes, and you can track your progress through the differential diagnosis, guideline-based assessment, and measurement-based treatment in a patient with a movement disorder. An expert faculty mentor provides content-specific commentary on your choices and helps guide you to the correct diagnosis and optimal treatment plan. Learning objectives and content on evidence-based, best practices for the correct diagnosis and treatment will be shared throughout the clinical simulation.

Activity Goal

To implement evidence-based diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with the diagnosed clinical condition in this medical simulation that align with current evidence and expert specialty society guideline recommendations for managing core and other symptoms of the condition.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this CE activity, participants should be able to:

• Conduct a focused history, physical exam, and work-up to evaluate a 50-year-old woman with non-specific complaints of depression, shoulder pain, slight tremor, and stiffness.
• Develop a treatment plan that is based on the working diagnosis and the patient's comorbid conditions found during assessment and evaluation.

Target Audience

Neurologists, psychiatrists, internists, primary care physicians, and other health care professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, who have an interest in movement disorders.
