Dr. Goldenberg is Chief of Rheumatology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts. He is also Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Goldenberg received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He served an internship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a residency in Medicine at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He completed his postgraduate training with a clinical and research fellowship in Rheumatology at Boston University School of Medicine.

For the past 25 years, much of Dr. Goldenberg's research has focused on fibromyalgia and related disorders. He has been included in each of the first five editions of The Best Doctors in America and has been interviewed many times on national and local television, including The Today Show and Good Morning America. He has authored two books on fibromyalgia, Chronic Illness and Uncertainty and Fibromyalgia: A Leading Expert's Guide to Understanding and Getting Relief from the Pain That Won't Go Away. In 2008, Dr Goldenberg was honored as a recipient of the Ropes Award by the Arthritis Foundation.
