The CME Outfitters team is busily preparing for this week’s 3rd Annual Chair Summit in Chicago, Illinois, August 26-29. While our logistics team is handling last-minute details to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable meeting experience, our scientific team is working in overdrive to finalize the plenary sessions, our interactive “Ask the Chair” small-group breakouts, and the provocative Chart Review sessions.
The 3rd Annual Chair Summit is not for the faint of heart! Our learners will be active participants throughout the conference. Our instructional designers continue to shift the sessions away from a prevalence of didactic plenary presentations to more small-group, individualized sessions. Participants can choose from a diverse selection of learning tracks that include bipolar disorder, childhood-onset behavioral (conduct) disorders, disorders of the older patient, mood and anxiety disorders (other than bipolar disorder), neurological disorders, personality disorder, psychotic disorders, quality patient care, sleep-wake disorders, substance use disorders, and suicide. Learners are going to have some very difficult decisions to make on-site—too many excellent choices in breakouts and the ability to be in only one place at a time! Therefore, all breakout and chart review sessions occur twice to give learners greater opportunities to participate.
Current events provide compelling insights into patient care opportunities, our focus at CME Outfitters. To address mental health issues in the news, Daniel K. Winstead, MD, from Tulane University will be sharing the challenges presented by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and the new initiatives set to meet the mental health needs of Gulf residents.
We encourage learners on- and off-site to follow the Chair Summit on Twitter. Key clinical pearls captured by our scientific staff in each breakout session will be shared via Twitter. The Chair Summit will embrace social media to provide a variety of opportunities to broaden your Community of Practice, strengthen your social and professional network, document conference events, and share information and ideas. Follow all the action from the 3rd Annual Chair Summit at www.twitter.com/cmeoutfitters.
A small number of seats are still available. End the summer on a high note of education, networking, and engaging with the brightest minds in the neurosciences. Register at http://www.neuroscienceCME.com/CC461. But if you are unable to make the trip, follow the meeting on www.neuroscienceCME.com and Twitter!
