In the 09.20.11 issue of Clinical Compass™, we asked seven questions.

Question #1 was "Data suggest that about two-thirds of patients with major depressive disorder do not achieve remission after initial treatment with a first-line antidepressant. Is this consistent with what you note in your clinical experience?" and the neuroscienceCME learning community responded:
51.4% - Yes
29.7% - No, I note a higher success rate
1.4% - No, I note a lower success rate
17.6% - N/A or unsure

Question #2 was "Reflect upon your use of adjunctive therapy to antidepressants in patients with depression who did not respond to initial antidepressant monotherapy. How often do you currently employ lithium as the first add-on therapy?" and the neuroscienceCME learning community responded:
