CME Outfitters Announces Upcoming Educational Webcast on Testosterone Deficiency to Launch April 2013

CME Outfitters' Accepting Registration For Its Upcoming Webcast Activity Focusing on A Primary Care Approach to Screening, Treating and Monitoring Men with Testosterone Deficiency

BETHESDA, Maryland (March 5, 2013) – CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, has opened registration for its upcoming live and enduring webcast entitled “A Primary Care Approach to Screening, Treating, and Monitoring Men with Testosterone Deficiency.” The live webcast will launch Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 12pm ET.   CMEO’s live webcast features an interactive discussion between Culley C. Carson, III, MD, FACS, and Martin M. Miner, MD.  Additionally, pre-recorded video clips featuring a physician-patient interaction regarding the clinical condition of testosterone deficiency will be shared during the live webcast to provide context and texture to the educational initiative.  These video clips will showcase the patient voice pertaining to symptoms, questions about treatment, and perspectives about results of treatment, and model physician best practice for providing accurate patient education and counseling in a patient-centric way.

“We are looking forward to incorporating physician-patient interactions into this webcast. It is important for CMEO to acknowledge the patient perspective when educating clinicians about screening, treating and monitoring men with testosterone deficiency. We think this format will help build confidence in our learners and encourage clinicians treating testosterone deficiency to take a more patient-focused approach in the clinical setting – ultimately improving patient outcomes,” said Jan Perez, CCMEP, CMEO Managing Partner.

The educational content will focus on the following learning objectives:

  • Ask appropriate, high-yield questions to uncover possible symptoms of testosterone deficiency, using best evidence to formulate questions.
  • Counsel men considering treatment for testosterone deficiency on evidence-based treatment options.
  • Monitor men being treated for testosterone deficiency for treatment response, side effects, and adherence to therapy, as recommended in guidelines.

The following health care professionals are encouraged to register: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses who provide primary care for men, as well as pharmacists and other health care professionals with an interest in testosterone deficiency.
