1st Annual Chairs in Psychiatry Summit to Convene June 27-29 in Hilton Head, SC
Over two dozen psychiatry department chairs to serve as faculty for intensive educational event: "The Master Class in Psychiatric Professional Development"

April 21, 2008

Rockville, MD -- CME Outfitters, LLC, (CMEO) an independent accredited provider of multidisciplinary continuing education programming and related healthcare communications services, announces the 1st Annual Chairs in Psychiatry Summit – The Master Class in Psychiatric Professional Development. The two-and-a-half-day event will showcase over two dozen faculty chairs from the nation's leading psychiatry departments, who will serve as educational faculty from June 27-29 in Hilton Head, SC. This certified continuing medical education event is open to clinicians with an interest in mental health.

Charles B. Nemeroff, MD, PhD, is the 2008 Summit Chair. Dr. Nemeroff is the Reunette W. Harris Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Nemeroff and the faculty panel are working closely with CMEO to create a curriculum that spans the most important areas affecting mental health today.

All education will be delivered via learning formats designed to enable participants to immediately translate the evidence into clinical practice improvements. The result will be an intensive, integrated CME curriculum for practicing clinicians. This important initiative is generating well-deserved attention and interest in the field of mental health.

During the Summit, the faculty chairs will personally lead presentations, interactive sessions, and small group breakouts. They will also answer attendee questions, share clinical experiences, and consult with attendees on specific cases during exclusive "Ask the Chair" Q&A segments.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend the 1st Annual Chair Achievement Award dinner and panel discussion, and enjoy numerous networking opportunities with colleagues from across the country.

This educational activity is provided by CME Outfitters and will offer 24.5 CME credits to participating clinicians.

The 1st Annual Chairs in Psychiatry Summit – The Master Class in Psychiatric Professional Development will be held at the Westin Hilton Head Island.
