CME Outfitters Announces New CE Activity on Optimizing Care of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Launches on August 10, 2011, with live broadcast/webcast/telephone bridge and interactive Q&A session; faculty includes clinical research and treatment experts; focus on optimizing diagnostic strategies to improve care.

Rockville, MD (PRWEB) July 25, 2011

CME Outfitters, LLC, an award-winning accredited provider of multidisciplinary continuing education (CE), today announces a new interactive CE activity entitled Optimizing Care of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Focus on Diagnosis, Combination Therapy, and Outcomes-Based Care. The activity, co-sponsored by USF Health, launches with a live broadcast on August 10, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. ET, and offers continuing education credit for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

“Early diagnosis of RA can facilitate early treatment” says Shari Tordoff, managing partner of CME Outfitters, LLC. “Validated assessment tools can be effectively applied to monitor disease activity and progression. And it’s equally important to select the appropriate DMARD therapy for each individual patient and optimize treatment using outcomes measures.”
Tordoff adds that the new educational activity focuses on diagnostic and management challenges faced by primary care clinicians, rheumatologists, pain specialists, nurses and other professionals, and helps them:

  • Apply new and emerging diagnostic strategies for rheumatoid arthritis to facilitate early diagnosis of the disease.
  • Utilize validated outcome measures to monitor disease activity and progression and ultimately optimize therapy for individual patients with RA.
  • Integrate guidelines and strategies for combination DMARD therapy to facilitate more appropriate DMARD selections for patient therapy.

Faculty for the activity includes renowned clinician-researchers with specific expertise in treatment and management of rheumatoid arthritis.
