CME Outfitters Announces New Activity on Improving Medication Adherence in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Launches on November 16 with live broadcast, interactive Q&A session; faculty includes experts from Cornell, Drexel, and University of California, San Francisco

Rockville, MD (PRWEB) November 12, 2011

CME Outfitters, LLC, an award-winning accredited provider of multidisciplinary continuing education, today announces a new interactive CE activity entitled Optimizing Clinical Outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis: Strategies for Improving Adherence. The program launches with a live broadcast on November 16, 2011 at 12:00 pm ET, and provides continuing education credit for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

“Poor treatment adherence is a significant cause of poor health quality in many patients,” says Shari Tordoff, managing partner of CME Outfitters, LLC. “There are effective interventions to combat common cause of poor adherence, and it’s critical that clinicians are knowledgeable about using them as part of individualized management plans.”

Tordoff adds that the new program focuses on practice tips to address management challenges faced by physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team, and helps them:

  • Articulate the most common causes of low treatment adherence among patients with RA, and more effectively and proactively communicate with patients about the long-term risks of treatment nonadherence.
  • Devise an assessment plan that applies evidence-based models, strategies, and objective measures and use these to routinely monitor and improve adherence to a therapeutic regimen in patients with RA.
  • Select targeted, pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapies for RA within individualized management plans that are in concordance with patients’ needs.
Faculty for the program includes several board-certified, well-published clinician-researchers who have specific expertise in the treatment and management of rheumatoid arthritis.
